Job Description

Sr. HCM Workday Consultant, HR Transformation

Job Profile Summary:

Leads the design, preparation, and coordination of the HR production system, Workday, with emphasis on core HCM and leading the production support team.

 

Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of strategy for a significant area of responsibility, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy.

Initiate and lead the governance and delivery of programs within a significant area of responsibility, using an appropriate program and project management methodology to give assurance that intended outcomes are identified and achieved.

Lead the production of project plans and approve them, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver program and project objectives, and comply both with the organization's project and program management framework and with the organization's wider governance structure and processes.

Lead the development of project- and program-management frameworks and tools to ensure that they meet the needs of key internal and external stakeholders.

Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.

Identify and manage stakeholders up to and including top management level, finding out their needs, issues, and concerns and reacting to them by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.

Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.

Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the function. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

 

Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.

Uses expertise to act as the organizational authority on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.

Operates as a recognized expert to develop and apply an entrepreneurial spirit to run a project and program within business operation parameters.

Operates as a recognized expert to define the program, component projects, and operations, adapt existing life cycle frameworks to the unique nature of the program, and orchestrate the integration of all component parts to deliver the program outcomes and benefits.

Uses expertise to act as the organizational authority on managing projects and/or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters.

Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on strategic planning.

Acts as the organizational authority and established expert on analyzing data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.

Applies expertise to act as the organizational authority on motivating all employees to learn, grow and develop so that they can obtain the knowledge and experience they need to help the organization reach its goals.

Negotiates as the organizational authority and established expert to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests.

Operates as a recognized expert to identify, select, and manage the oversight of projects, programs, and portfolios, including standardized policies and procedures, escalation, decision making, change control, prioritization, and approval processes.

Operates as a recognized expert to build the structure and culture of the project team, and define roles and responsibilities within that structure to enable the achievement of project mission and objectives and the effective operation of key business processes.

Applies expertise to act as the organizational authority on identifying, assessing, prioritizing and managing project-related risks.
